Science & Research-based Companies Apply!
Inventors & Investors is a new pitch event from San Diego Innovation Council, Tech Coast Angels, Connect, and StartupSD.
Companies must be affiliated with an academic research center or university to apply.
10 companies will be selected as finalists. Each will be assigned a TCA coach to prep to pitch a panel of investor judges at the competition event during Startup Month. The 1st place winner selected by the judge panel will receive an automatic slot to pitch at one of TCA’s screening meetings in consideration for TCA funding.
Requirements:
- Company must be incorporated at the time of the pitch competition.
- Company must be able to accept Angel Investments. (but it is not required to do so)
- Company must be affiliated with an academic research center or university in at least one of the following ways:
- A license to intellectual property
- Enrolled in an incubator or accelerator program
- Collaborating to validate/test a business model
- Company must not exceed $2M in current equity (dilutive) funding, including promissory note
