Every year, EPIC invests more than $130 million in new technology breakthroughs to meet California’s energy and climate policy goals and deliver benefits to electric ratepayers of the state’s three largest investor-owned utilities – Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E), Southern California Edison Company (SCE), and San Diego Gas & Electric Company (SDG&E).
The CEC is one of four EPIC administrators funding research, development, and demonstrations of clean energy technologies and approaches that will benefit electricity ratepayers of California’s three largest investor-owned electric utilities. EPIC investments lead to technological advancement and breakthroughs to overcome the barriers that prevent the achievement of the state’s statutory energy goals.
This program is funded by California utility customers under the auspices of the California Public Utilities Commission.
