Systematic improvements to grid investments and operations are needed to accommodate widespread adoption of distributed energy resources and enable market development across New York State. The Future Grid solicitation seeks innovative solutions to challenge areas that enable a clean transmission and distribution grid as defined in the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act. The challenges will be developed in collaboration with grid stakeholders such as the state’s utilities and asset owners pursuing grid interaction advancements. Up to $3 million is available per challenge in 2021 for product development and demonstration projects.
