The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) is accepting applications from community solar developers interested in participating in Expanded Solar for All (E-SFA), a new program jointly run by National Grid and NYSERDA. The program will provide electric bill savings from community solar projects to over 160,000 low-income National Grid electric customers. NYSERDA will competitively select up to 300 MWdc of community solar projects to participate in the E-SFA program. Participating projects will be compensated directly by National Grid, eliminating the need for customer acquisition, management, and administration. The credits generated by the projects will be pooled and distributed to all the customers in National Grid’s Energy Affordability Program (EAP). E-SFA is designed to deliver the benefits of community solar, including lower energy costs and adoption of clean energy, to historically underserved low-income customers.
