Description

This is a competitive contract solicitation to support the California Air Resources Board (CARB or Board) Sustainable Transportation and Communities Division. CARB encourages proposers to form multidisciplinary teams to fulfill contract requirements. Principal Investigators (PIs) must be affiliated with University of California and California State Universities; however, CARB encourages PIs to recruit non-academic and diverse partners when appropriate.

The objective of this project is to develop a framework for measuring and reducing the average carbon intensity of the materials used in the construction of new buildings, and to develop a comprehensive strategy to reduce embodied greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in building materials. The results of this study will inform CARB’s implementation of AB 2446.
