The Air District is pleased to announce a grant opportunity for Bay Area community-based organizations, neighborhood associations, and other local nonprofits to uplift local efforts that improve air quality and public health. Grants must be used to design and implement strategies that foster authentic and meaningful engagement, and build community capacity to actively participate in planning activities that improve a community’s environmental health.
The Air District seeks to provide grant funding for projects that will:
Help build community capacity to participate in one or more of the following: reducing air pollution, reducing human exposure to air pollution, and/or increasing community members’ ability to meaningfully engage with the Air District and its work;
Design and implement strategies that foster authentic and meaningful engagement, and empower and build organizational and community capacity to actively participate in planning activities that improve a community’senvironmental health;
Uplift local efforts that improve air quality and public health; and
Serve environmental justice communities, including communities that are under- resourced, income challenged, unhoused, English language learners, and/or overburdened by a disproportionate share of air pollution.
