Systematic improvements to operating and planning the electric grid are needed to accommodate widespread adoption of clean energy resources across New York State. The Grid Enhancing Technologies (GETs) solicitation, Program Opportunity Notice (PON) 5848, seeks innovative solutions for a broad range of technical areas. These solutions anticipate the performance needs of a clean transmission and distribution grid, as defined in the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act. The topic areas were developed in collaboration with the State’s utilities to address challenges to advance grid modernization. Up to $3 million is available per project for product developments, demonstrations and studies.
