Microgrid Labs is developing/offering a modeling, simulation and optimization software to minimize capital expenditure, operating cost and risk of fleet electrification projects. The MGL’s EVOPT application suite has two components: Planning and Control.
EVOPT-Planner models the driving and charging process to determine the optimum size of the vehicle battery, charging/energy infrastructure capacity and operational schedule to minimize capital and operational costs. Its built-in simulation and “what-if” analysis functions helps planners to evaluate the impact of changes to operating scenarios before implementing them, thereby reducing risks from uncertainties.
EVOPT-Controller is a real-time optimization software that continuously optimizes its operation based on actual operating conditions to minimize energy costs and prevent overloading of the electrical network. Its built-in operational planning module helps the operator to simulate any changes to operating schedule (routes, timetable) and evaluate its impact before implementing the changes.
