We are an environmental health 501(c)3 nonprofit that is a community-based organization (CBO) serving all eight counties in Southern California (Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, Santa Barbara, Ventura, Imperial and San Diego). We conduct community outreach and engagement, community education, advocacy, public awareness, and public health campaigns. We promote efforts to transition to clean vehicles, clean energy, and clean technologies. We also work to curb wildfires and reduce air pollution emission sources in order to protect public health. We have extensive experience engaging disadvantaged communities as well as elected officials and other policymakers on these issues. We have partnered with several companies and local government agencies as either a prime or a subcontractor on CEC, CARB, CPUC, and CalEPA grants to engage community stakeholders about clean technology, clean infrastructure, clean energy, air quality, climate, and wildfire prevention projects.
Breathe SoCal can plan and implement community workshops, town halls, health fairs, focus groups and surveys/polls. We develop an outreach plan specific to the issue and the community being targeted. We have relationships with over 200 community organizations across Southern California. We also create educational, social engagement, and public relations campaigns via social media or traditional media outlets. Our team includes not only community engagement and outreach specialists who are all bilingual, but a former public relations professional, a former political speechwriter, a social media and web engagement expert, and a filmmaker who writes and directs professional-level PSAs and short films.
We would be very interested in speaking with you about our experience, and how our skills and expertise can add to your team.
