Proposed technology: Production of green H2 using inorganic microporous catalytic membrane reactor. This entails NH3 cracking followed by H2/N2 separation. Use of green NH3 as source of cracking for H2 production as it is carbon-free. Development of catalytic membrane reactor combining NH3 cracking and separation of H2 from NH3 and N2 in a single unit. This involves combining a catalyst and H2 selective membrane in a single unit. Catalyst: Use of non-precious metals such as, Fe/ Ni which are cost effective. Costly Pd- based metallic membranes are usually used for gas separation (H2 from N2). We are proposing a more cost-effective ceramic membranes as an alternative. Use of cost effective ceramic membranes and Ni catalyst in a single reactor assembly are the differentiating factors in our propose solution. |
