WVT is a community empowerment organization
Organization Overview

My name is William Thorne the owner and director of programs for WVT-Workforce Vocational Training Co. WVT is a community empowerment organization whose end-to-end Community Engagement Initiative (CEI) comprehensive framework will deliver economic and environmental benefits for an energy/renewable efficiency workforce, and energy efficient streamline modular manufacturing with community wide strategic planning with smart program design and management.

WVT’s comprehensive framework, comprehensive cognitive assessments, comprehensive psychometric assessments, and continuous improvement, is for the professional development of a professional energy efficiency workforce that will advance the social welfare of historically disenfranchised, underserved, and marginalized population(s).

The manufacturing component of WVT-CEI is part of a much larger community outreach program that will transform disadvantaged individuals into productive and self-reliant citizens. The goal of manufacturing is to build Energy Star homes, that are energy efficient, affordable, and provides fulltime employment for over 75 disadvantaged individuals, in addition to giving WVT financial sustainability to develop its Community Workforce Program (CWP).

The CWP will assess marginalized individuals and deliver life changing intervention programs to the Community Client (C/C). After graduating from our 2-month orientation program, WVT pays all client’s tuitions, books, stipends, tools, & subsidized daycare. Each graduate may attend a 2-year community college, enroll in a clean/renewable energy apprenticeship program, or become a trade union employee. These paid expenses will reduce some of the systemic barriers that have excluded marginalized individuals from self-sustainability and living wadge employment.
