Organization Overview

BoxPower solar plus storage microgrids provide clean, reliable, and affordable energy for rural utilities. BoxPower commissioned the first utility-owned Remote Grid Standalone Power Systems to permanently replace power lines in the United States. Utilities such as Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E), Liberty Utilities, and Southern California Edison are leveraging BoxPower’s technology to mitigate wildfire risk, increase resilience, and reduce service costs.

BoxPower’s software and hardware solutions optimize the performance and accelerate the deployment of microgrids. From feasibility study through operation, BoxPower provides turnkey engineering, construction, and management services. In addition to utility-owned Remote Grids, BoxPower’s products and services are being used to power remote communities, agricultural sites, telecom infrastructure, small commercial operations, and EV chargers.

Located in Grass Valley, California, BoxPower is a certified small business with a California Contractor’s License (#1068845).
