Development of high energy density anode materials for sodium-ion batteries

Organization Overview

We are developing advanced anode active materials, and associated enabling technologies, for sodium ion batteries. Incorporation of these new materials, with an energy density ~7x that of the currently commercially employed hard carbon active materials, will further bring down the cost of sodium ion batteries while also allowing for a broader range of uses. Sodium-ion cells built with our materials will also avoid the critical minerals which threaten to cause major disruptions in lithium-ion battery manufacturing.
